of our little 007. Just know that all proceeds from the
release of these photos are being donated to charity
to help buy new shoes for an angry Iraqi reporter.
Pearce is 2 weeks old as of 8:46 this morning. We
can hardly believe he has been here 2 whole weeks
(mainly because he is quiet and barely opens his eyes!).
007 took his first bath last week and all went well. As you
can see, he bears a strong resemblance to Olivia in
his cozy yellow bath towel.
his time thinking. We assume he is pondering his next
meal as all this child does is eat! He is nursing like a
maniac. Unfortunately, he does not at all have any interest
in taking a bottle. Today, cousin Liz was kind enough to
babysit so Mommy could go to the Dr. and Mr. 007
kindly refused to eat until Mommy returned. Hopefully
we will be able to break this habit soon. We were lucky
that Olivia would always take any food in any way she
could get it (hence the reason she is 27 lbs at 21 months-old).
As for his Angelina-like pout...well, it is here to stay.
Pearce has his Daddy's dimple, his Mommy's coloring,
and his Papou's full lips!
little man awake during the waking hours. Hopefully
this tactic will continue to keep him from waking
during the sleeping hours!
In other news, we have been blessed to have both Grand-Mom
Henry and Yiaya Skafidas here the last 2 weeks. The
grandmothers have enjoyed spending time with Pearce as
well as teaching Olivia lots of fun catch phrases. Grand-Mom
taught Olivia to say "ta-da!" and Yiaya taught her "OH MAN!"
and "okey dokey." Olivia continues to refer to the guest
room as "Grand-Mom's" or "Yiaya's." She is so cute!
As for the Mom- I am doing great. People continue to ask me
about my elective c-section. I have to say it was the best
(and really, the only) surgical experience I have had. I mean,
how often do you get to pick out the music in the operating room
and actually stay awake (without pain) to enjoy it while you
are having a baby?! Oh, and the anesthesiologist ended up taking
the best newborn photos of Pearce, Mommy and Daddy...soooo
cool! This experience sure beat the hell out of 16 hours of painful,
drugless labor, with a baby that was turned the wrong way!!!
As for recovery...it has been a miracle! So much faster and easier
than the regular delivery I had with Olivia (and I had a great
recovery and uncomplicated natural delivery with her).
We are thrilled to be so blessed during this holiday season!

i am happy to hear you guys are doing so well!
So glad you are recovering quickly. Isn't it funny how you forget how often a new born sleeps and then you wonder "what in the hell did I do with the first that made it seem like I was "so busy"?" You had no idea then what being really busy was until you have a toddler and a new baby in the house. Enjoy your live in help while you can and enjoy your babies.
Love the new pics. pearce is beautiful, just like ms. o! i really need to come by and see those munchkins asap.
